- Seminar on “Lalmonirhat: The Future Aviation City of Bangladesh”
angabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BSMRAAU) organized a seminar on “Lalmonirhat: The Future Aviation City of Bangladesh” on 2nd June 2022 at the permanent campus of the University in Lalmonirhat. Vice Chancellor of the university Air Vice Marshal Md. Nazr
ul Islam, BSP, nswc, afwc, psc, GD (P) presided over event, while Group Captain Md. Mezbah Uddin, head of university’s aircraft safety and accident investigation department, acted as the chief organiser. BSMRAAU – country’s first public university for aviation and aerospace studies has been operating from its Dhaka campus since its inception in 2019. The undergraduate programmes of the university will be shifted to Lalmonirhat from July 2022– the permanent campus of the University. The seminar was part of the preparatory events to sensitize the local elites and stakeholders. The seminar highlighted Bangabandhu’s education philosophy and his pioneering steps to set the foundation of aviation and aerospace studies in Bangladesh. The speakers observed that the establishment of BSMRAAU is aligned with the father of the nation’s dream for indigenous capacity building. The Vice Chancellor in his remarks stressed that, realizing the dream of our father of the nation has been bolstered by the active patronage and vision of honorable Prime Minister to transform Bangladesh an aviation hub and a knowledge-based country by 2041. The university will contribute towards that end by producing skilled manpower to serve in the aviation and aerospace sector of Bangladesh and beyond. He observed that the infrastructural development and the activities of the university is destine to transform Lalmonirhat as the aviation city of Bangladesh. The meeting ended with open discussion session among the participants.
